From Eyebrow Waxing to Mountain Climbing, Ashleigh’s Non-Glam Adventure
When Ashleigh isn’t busy perfecting your eyebrows or giving you the most relaxing massages, she’s been trying to train for the ultimate challenge – taking on Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom.
While most beauty therapists would be content with mastering the art of intricate nail designs, Ashleigh dreamt bigger. She always wanted to climb Ben Nevis.
Ashleigh and her husband knew that conquering Ben Nevis wouldn’t be a walk in the park, so she tried training as best she could. From her evening walks to climbing Simonside up Rothbury, she began to feel more confident until Covid struck a week or so before she was due to climb Ben Nevis.
Unfortunately she never did get the training she ideally wanted, being really ill beforehand and then whoosh, the day arrives.
The Big Day Arrives: Battling Nature’s Wrath
On the day of the climb, Ashleigh was ready to face whatever Mother Nature threw at her. It started with a glorious sunny day the day before the climb.
Little did she know that the weather gods had a mischievous sense of humour in store.
On the way up to the half way loch the weather seemed perfect, albeit with a layer of cloud forming up the mountain and blocking some of the views she came to see.
However, we should warn you, if you ever want to climb a mountain then you should expect a change of weather at any moment. It really is that unpredictable.
With a backpack filled with jelly babies, bottles of prosecco (and water), and a heart full of excitement, Ashleigh embarked on her epic journey.
Strength, Resilience, and Beauty
As Ashleigh ascended the unexpected really steep slopes of Ben Nevis, she faced numerous obstacles along the way. The challenging terrain tested her physical strength and mental resilience. But just like our beauty salon, Ashleigh knew that true beauty lies in overcoming challenges with grace and confidence.
The beauty industry is all about empowering individuals and helping them embrace their unique features. And as Ashleigh climbed higher, she realised that her inner strength and determination were key to reaching the summit (and the prosecco celebration).
Every step she took reminded her of the importance of self-belief and perseverance, qualities we encourage in every customer who walks through our salon doors.
Lessons Learned from Nature
Nature has a wonderful way of teaching us valuable lessons. As Ashleigh gazed at the majestic landscapes surrounding Ben Nevis (when the cloud cleared), she couldn’t help but reflect on the beauty of simplicity. Just like a well-executed beauty routine, nature’s beauty is often found in the simplest things – the gentle noise of waterfalls, the crisp mountain air, and the breath-taking views.
This realisation reminded Ashleigh of the importance of simplicity in our daily lives.
Sometimes, all we need is a few well-chosen beauty products and a confident smile to radiate beauty from within. It’s not about hiding behind layers of makeup but embracing your natural features and letting your inner beauty shine through.
A Triumph of Beauty and Strength
After hours of battling rain, wind, and fatigue, Ashleigh finally reached the summit of Ben Nevis.
With a victorious smile on her face, prosecco and mud-splattered boots, she proved that beauty isn’t just about what’s on the outside – it’s also about the spirit within. She showed us all that with a little determination, we can conquer any mountain that stands in our way.

Unfortunately the blustery wind and hail poured down on the descent, turning the mountain into a slippery obstacle course on the way back down.
